Keller is the Director of Field Operations for RES, providing leadership of the RES field restoration and operations activities. A Baton Rouge native, his passion for the coast and conservation started at an early age while fishing the barrier islands of Louisiana with his grandfather; almost all of these islands are now eroded away. Watching this massive land loss with his own eyes drives him to continue to preserve, enhance, and restore as much land as possible.
Keller joined RES shortly after graduating with a B.S. Degree in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Science from Rhodes College. While at Rhodes, he led the football team’s defense as middle linebacker and was selected to represent the freshman class on the Team Counsel. His leadership continues off the field here at RES as he steers his teams to design, permit, prep, construct, monitor and maintain all of the company’s restoration sites.
Since his start at RES, Keller has overseen 8 million native trees across the US in 8 different states and has successfully put new projects in the ground every year at the same time. Concurrently, his teams have maintained all of RES’s previously constructed projects to ensure that each restoration plan is carried out correctly and that each site is achieving the performance standards required by the USACE. He is also very active in RES Nursery and Coastal Restoration projects and serves on the Board of Louisiana’s Coast Builders Coalition, a workgroup of professionals within the coastal restoration business.
