Travis joined RES in 2019 as the Client Solutions Manager for Maryland, where he works with clients across the state to proactively address mitigation and restoration requirements and reduce nutrient run-off throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. In 2022, he transferred to North Carolina to lead client solutions for the Raleigh office.
Travis began his career in Senator Kay Hagan’s office in Washington, DC, where he managed correspondence and stakeholder engagement on a range of policy issues. In 2015, Travis entered business school concentrating in Energy and Sustainable Enterprise. This experience led him to spend time at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP), and the American Sustainable Business Council. At TRCP, he oversaw natural infrastructure policy and strategic communications for a coalition of conservation NGOs, including successfully lobbying for inclusion of natural infrastructure provisions in the 2018 Water Resources Development Act. While at EDF, he developed a business case for sustainable nutrient application in agricultural supply chains, and during business school, he was a leader in the school’s impact investing competitions and curriculum. Travis received his BA in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
