RES Builds Castle Rock Mitigation Bank in Minnesota

August 16, 2024

Castle Rock, MN — Resource Environmental Solutions LLC (RES) is proud to announce our first wetland mitigation bank in Minnesota. Castle Rock Mitigation Bank in Castle Rock, MN has received approval for 112.45 wetland credits. Construction is set to begin in September and is expected to be completed by the fall. Credits for the Bank, located in Bank Service Area 8 (BSA8), will be available soon.

During the project, our team will rehabilitate the degraded functions of 122.8 acres of historical wetlands and their surrounding buffers. We will re-establish and sustain functions to 109 acres of wetlands, enhance 1.5 acres of partially drained wetland, and create 12.3 acres of mesic prairie enhancing biodiversity and supporting pollinators in the region. The site will provide critical stopover habitat for migratory birds while reducing nitrogen and phosphorus discharges into the local watershed.

This project marks a significant milestone in RES’ mission to boost Minnesota’s ecological resiliency. We believe our future stewardship of the Castle Rock Mitigation Bank will make a meaningful contribution to improving the region’s environmental health.
