To support the expansion of a Luck Stone project site, RES developed the Blue Heron Permittee-Responsible Mitigation or PRM.

After identifying the 175-acre mitigation site, the team has proposed to restore approximately 2,054 linear feet of stream through the design, construction, and preservation of a stable meandering system with appropriate width/depth ratio, substrate, and stable banks. Through installed features such as brush toes, constructed riffles, log and rock sills, and pools of varying depths, the restored stream will help to improve native wildlife habitat and populations.

An additional 4,738 linear feet of stream will be enhanced through mitigation activities that include bank grading and floodplain benching to enhance hydrologic regimes, installation of in-stream structures to increase hydrologic access to the floodplain, enhance bedforms, and improve habitat and stability, and the eradication and control of invasive vegetation species.

Over 10,000 linear feet of high-quality existing streams will be preserved through the establishment of a conservation easement.
