Comite Wetland Mitigation Bank

  • Louisiana
  • East Baton Rouge Parish
  • Wetlands: 185.3 AC
Service Territory
  • Wetlands, Streams or Nutrients: LRAM-Lake Pontchartrain Basin

The goal of the Comite Mitigation Bank was to re-establish, rehabilitate, and enhance the area as sustainable forested, hardwood, wetland ecosystems for compensatory mitigation purposes. The Bank increases the quality of the forested wetland habitat for resident and migratory wildlife and restores agricultural lands to a natural ecosystem. The Bank helps to reduce flooding and point source pollution within the Lake Pontchartrain Basin.
