RES Acquires Carolina Environmental Contracting
CEC Adds Proven Stormwater and Construction Capabilities To RES North Carolina Team
October 02, 2020
RES announced today the acquisition of Carolina Environmental Contracting (CEC), a construction firm specializing in stormwater solutions across North Carolina since 1991.
“We are excited to have such a talented team, with a great reputation, joining RES,” says Darrell Whitley, RES President and CEO. “North Carolina, along with the broader region, continues to be an important growth market for RES. Teaming up with CEC supports our current acquisition strategy and gives us deeper in-house implementation capabilities, strengthening our stormwater and stream restoration solutions for a range of municipal, state, and private clients.”
“Being part of RES is exciting for our team, our customers, and our projects,” says Joanne Cheatham, CEC President. “CEC has found a great partner in RES that will provide new growth opportunities for my employees, as well as a chance to share our knowledge and experience with the RES team.”
“And just as important to all of us at CEC, RES is committed to maintaining CEC’s portfolio of services, which is great for our customers,” Cheatham continues. “With RES’ operating model, including safety, regulatory, project management, technology, and business development, we have an incredible opportunity to grow together and integrate our systems to offer our clients across North Carolina and the Southeast a more comprehensive plan for stormwater management.”
The CEC headquarters office in Mt Airy, NC, will continue its current operations, working closely with RES teams based in Raleigh and other locations across the state and the Southeast Region.
“CEC has a tremendous management team and track record of accomplishments,” says Don Seaborn, RES Region Vice President, East. “We are delighted the team will be continuing in their current roles as we focus on growing North Carolina together.”
