The Bradco Farm Nature Park Wetland Restoration Project is designed to establish a fully functional natural system within the City of Winter Haven, one of the fastest growing communities in Florida. As population growth drives increased urban development, the region faces mounting challenges: more impervious surfaces, reduced infiltration, heightened flood risk, and greater demand on already constrained water resources.

Strategically located within the Peace Creek Canal Watershed, a critical watershed in central Florida, the project presents a unique opportunity to enhance community resilience while supporting sustainable water supply management.

Key Features
• Wetland Restoration: 600+ acres of contiguous, historic wetland floodplain within the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes.
• Aquifer Recharge: Approximately 2 million gallons per day (MGD) into the Floridan Aquifer through a dedicated recharge well.
• Surface Water Management: Conveyance of water from Lakes Hamilton and Fannie to rehydrate wetlands and support aquifer recharge.
• Flood Capacity Creation: Restoration of floodplain areas to provide additional storage capacity during flood events, reducing downstream risks.
• Reclaimed Water Reuse: Integration of reclaimed water routed through a new connection to the project site, reducing effluent discharges when downstream water bodies are already elevated.

Client Benefits
• Community Resilience: Enhanced protection against flood events safeguards homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure.
• Water Security: By recharging the Floridan Aquifer, the project provides a sustainable and reliable water supply to meet future demand.
• Public Value Creation: The establishment of the Park as a restored, functional ecosystem creates opportunities for recreation, education, and community engagement.
