Dakota County needed to create new wetland areas and enhance existing wetland areas to receive offset credits for project impacts in the County. RES was brought in to serve as the ecological contractor for the project. We implemented a restoration and enhancement scope for the project and provided site preparation, prescribed burning, native seeding, dethatching, mowing, and herbicide application.

As a result of the project, areas previously dominated by cattails and other vegetation have been established with suppressed native species. Farmed areas that were seeded began showing signs of native wetland plant communities. RES has achieved or surpassed the performance metrics set for this project.
