The 121-acre Buena Creek Conservation Bank in San Diego County consists of Diegan coastal sage scrub and Diegan coastal sage/laurel sumac scrub habitat preserved for the coastal California gnatcatcher.

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service approved the Bank for impacts to coastal California gnatcatcher and coastal sage scrub. The Service Area encompasses northern San Diego County and portions of the North County Multiple Species Conservation Program Plan, as depicted in the service area map.
