Expanding on the success of the Campbell Ranch Conservation Bank, the Campbell Ranch II Conservation Bank is a 471-acre site located in Solano County, California. Currently in development, the bank will offer compensatory mitigation credits for a suite of federally and state-listed species, including the vernal pool fairy shrimp (Branchinecta lynchi), vernal pool tadpole shrimp (Lepidurus packardi), California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense), Burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) (foraging), Swainson’s hawk (Buteo swainsoni) (foraging), and Western pond turtle (Actinemys marmorata).

This ecologically rich site features native and nonnative grasslands, vernal pools, seasonal wetlands, and marsh habitat associated with Barker Slough, which plays a vital role in water quality, flood control, and habitat connectivity. The site’s unique vernal pool complexes also provide essential breeding grounds for amphibians and macroinvertebrates.

RES is managing all aspects of the bank’s development, from permitting and compliance to credit sales and long-term stewardship. Once approved, Campbell Ranch Conservation Bank II will offer a flexible, full-scope mitigation solution for developers, agencies, and infrastructure projects in need of species and habitat credits.
