The Dunns Bridge Solar Project exemplifies our integrated ecological approach, combining sustainable vegetation management with construction-phase environmental compliance. RES directly contracted by the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor to design and implement a comprehensive vegetation program supporting site stabilization, aesthetic screening, and stormwater compliance.

In early 2022, we applied herbicide across 1,460 acres to suppress invasive growth and prepare the seedbed for effective seeding. Permanent seed mixes were installed alongside temporary cover crop to promote rapid establishment, reduce erosion, and provide early green cover. Seeding was executed around active and future infrastructure zones, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.

Strategic Vegetation Management

During the 2022 growing season, RES teams conducted multiple mowing events to:

  • Suppress nuisance agricultural annuals
  • Maintain optimal vegetation height during construction
  • Reduce fire risk

Extensive Landscape Screening

RES installed 19,055 linear feet of natural screening including:

  • 1,492 canopy trees
  • 3,556 evergreen and understory trees
  • More than 5,000 trees and shrubs

This effort created 15 miles of vegetative screening, balancing visual buffering with biodiversity enhancement.

Compliance and Stewardship

  • Fully compliant with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
  • Focused on perennial vegetation establishment that meets both regulatory and ecological goals
  • Supports pollinator habitats and long-term land stewardship around clean energy infrastructure
