Dakota County needed to establish a wetland bank to mitigate the impacts of existing wetlands on County projects. RES was hired as the ecological contractor to establish native vegetation through three zones of wetlands and uplands. The site was previously in agricultural rotation and sod farming before being converted back to native wetlands. After native seeding, native planting, and vegetation management, the site now predominantly features native plant communities with an exceptional diversity of emergent, wet meadow, and mesic prairie species. RES has achieved or surpassed the performance metrics set for the wetland bank.
