The Tull Wooten I Mitigation Site provides wetland preservation mitigation under the Neu-Con Umbrella Wetland Mitigation and Stream Restoration Banking Instrument. The site supports the generation of wetland mitigation credits, which are used to offset impacts authorized under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.

Located within the floodplain of the Neuse River in Lenoir County, North Carolina, the site encompasses mature, frequently flooded bottomland hardwood forests and riverine swamps established in hydric soils. These wetlands possess high ecological and functional value, contributing significantly to regional biodiversity and watershed health.

Consistent with federal guidance and the Neu-Con Umbrella Mitigation Banking Instrument (UMBI), credits from the Tull Wooten I site are typically debited at a 2:1 ratio to offset an acre of impact. One credit must be sourced from restoration activities, while the remaining credit may be derived from restoration, enhancement, creation, or preservation.
