Our team assisted the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) with the expansion of the existing Little Cypress Creek between Roberts Road and Bauer Road near the community of Hockley, Texas. The goal is to provide regional stormwater detention volume in accordance with the Little Cypress Creek Master Drainage Program. Our efforts have centered on lowering the flowline of Little Cypress Creek and incorporating about 9,300 feet of Natural Stabilized Channel Design (NSCD) with in-stream structures. This project, a part of HCFCD’s Little Cypress Creek Frontier Program, will increase the regional stormwater basin volume by approximately 450,000 cubic yards.
Project Highlights
- Part of HCFCD Cypress Creek Frontier Program
- 9,300LF of Natural Stable Channel Design to lower the flow line of Little Cypress Creek
- Expansion of detention basin volume by approximately 450,000 cubic yards of off-site disposal
