Karen Snyder brings over three decades of expertise in drainage, permitting, PD&E Studies, environmental services, and project management within the transportation sector. Additionally, Karen specializes in Drainage Design through FDOT District Five’s Professional Engineer Trainee Program.
During her tenure as the District Environmental Permit Coordinator in the 1990s, she was pivotal in the Department’s implementation of NPDES MS4 and Construction Programs. Karen also contributed to streamlining the ERP process at FDOT. She has returned to Resource Environmental Solutions (RES) as Compliance Division Manager for Florida Region 8. RES’ Compliance Division is dedicated to offering NPDES MS4 permitting support for FDOT Districts and Local Governments, ensuring permit compliance, providing environmental permitting services, offering environmental design support, and executing water quality improvement projects.
Recently, Karen served as the Project Development Manager and Assistant District Drainage Engineer for District Five. In these roles, she led PD&E Studies, managed NPDES MS4 and Construction programs, provided Drainage Design support, and supervised the Environmental Permitting team. Her extensive experience drives positive change in the transportation and environmental sectors.
Karen is an alumna of Florida State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering.
