January 12, 2024

St Louis, MO – Resource Environmental Solutions (RES), a leading nature-based solutions provider, was awarded a 2023 St. Louis Green Business Challenge Leader Award (sponsored by the Missouri Botanical Garden) for sustainable achievements in 2023.

RES was honored for its sustainable project and operations achievements. RES constructed 23 green infrastructure bioretention areas which capture and manage over one-million gallons of stormwater runoff per storm event in St Louis, MO. RES planted more than 23,500 native plants throughout these areas. To deliver St. Louis area projects, RES used hybrid work to eliminate more than 34,500 driving miles, 1,300 gallons of fuel, and 15.5 tons of carbon dioxide. RES was able to source more than 80 percent of the construction materials within a 50-mile radius of the project sites. In addition, RES staff volunteered at two green infrastructure maintenance events and donated more than 200 native plants.

Tim Moritz, Regional Client Solutions Manager at RES said, “RES is proud our mission of providing resiliency through restoration is benefiting the City of St. Louis. Our green infrastructure projects for MSD prevent flooding and improve water quality, furthering our mission. Joining the Green Business Challenge has helped us better align with other community members who want to share our mission to increase resiliency in the metro area.”
