The goal of the Cow Island Bayou Mitigation Bank is to provide appropriate compensatory mitigation for unavoidable impacts to wetlands authorized by the USACE within the Lower Trinity watershed.
The bank reestablished approximately 272 acres of wetlands, including:
- Restoring approximately 232 acres of forested wetlands
- Restoring approximately 22 acres of herbaceous wetlands
- Preserving approximately 18 acres of forested wetlands
