The Offerman Mitigation Bank is located in Pierce County, Georgia, southeast of the town of Offerman and adjacent to the Little Satilla Wildlife Management Area. The primary objective is to restore the natural hydrology and native vegetation of a formerly degraded bottomland cypress–hardwood ecosystem that was previously altered by timber harvesting. Through this ecological restoration, the project aims to generate mitigation credits for impacts associated with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
