RES’ footprint in Maryland began with Environmental Banc & Exchange (EBX), which was acquired by RES in 2014
EBX, founded in 1997, developed one of the first forest mitigation banks in Maryland in 1998 and was an initial sponsor of the Ecosystem Marketplace web portal produced by Forest Trends in 2000. Through EBX, RES has served on the Chesapeake Bay Program Nutrient Trading Workgroup since 2001. RES grew its in-house services by acquiring Angler Environmental in September 2016 who has been performing work in Maryland since 2006.
In 2007, RES was awarded its first contract with the Maryland State Highway Administration and since that time has expanded our services to MDSHA to more than ten individual SHA projects across 20 individual sites. RES began its history of on-call contracts with Maryland counties in 2007 when it was awarded an on-call with Harford County and has held this contract since 2007 through three rounds of procurement cycles for awarding new contracts.
Additional County on-call contracts include Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery Counties. In Baltimore County RES has been awarded contracts for both the Department of Public Works as well as the Department of Environmental Protection. RES currently holds four Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) to provide environmental management and stream restoration services in environmentally sensitive areas as a part of the EPA consent decree program to repair, replace, and rehabilitate their sewer infrastructure throughout Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties. RES’ work with WSSC began in 2010 for pipe armoring services and in 2016 was issued a standalone contract with WSSC for on-call as needed pipe armoring and stream restoration services.
