RES announced today its acquisition of Lecon, Inc., a Houston-based leader in flood mitigation solutions in urban and coastal settings across Harris County and the Texas Gulf Coast.

With a 30-year history in heavy construction, LECON has completed more than 580 projects across Texas and is a trusted provider of services such as large-scale earthmoving, mass grading of both conventional and unconventional sites, slope stabilization, and erosion control. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, LECON dedicated itself to rebuilding Harris County’s watersheds. The Company has worked with clients across federal, state, county, and municipal levels to address flood mitigation needs in Texas.

With the acquisition of LECON, RES deepens its commitment to providing flood mitigation and coastal resiliency solutions to Houston, Harris County, and the Texas Gulf Coast.

“We believe LECON brings just the right capabilities and experience to help RES scale our Gulf Coast operations and to meet our clients’ growing needs. As the importance of addressing flood mitigation and coastal resiliency issues continues to increase, RES is committed to providing the full suite of solutions needed to address these critical issues,” says Darrell Whitley, RES president and CEO. “Solutions combining watershed planning, natural (green) infrastructure and built (gray) infrastructure are the reality in established urban settings like Houston. RES is building the teams to help cities, counties, and state agencies conceive and create lasting solutions. Making this investment in our hometown is especially gratifying.”

“Joining RES is the logical next step as we look to further our commitment to the greater Houston area and Texas Gulf Coast,” says Dan Lloyd, LECON founder and CEO. “Since Hurricane Harvey, our mission has been to protect Harris County’s watersheds through the implementation of flood mitigation solutions. We feel that by joining forces with RES, we can best serve our clients and the surrounding communities.”

LECON will maintain its leadership and all operational staff and services as a part of RES.
