Expanding on the success of the Campbell Ranch Conservation Bank, Campbell Ranch Conservation Bank II is a proposed 471-acre conservation bank in Solano County, California that is currently advancing through the regulatory approval process. Once approved, the bank is expected to provide compensatory mitigation credits for a suite of federally and state-listed species, including the vernal pool fairy shrimp (Branchinecta lynchi), vernal pool tadpole shrimp (Lepidurus packardi), California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense), burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) (foraging), Swainson’s hawk (Buteo swainsoni) (foraging), and western pond turtle (Actinemys marmorata).

This ecologically rich site features native and nonnative grasslands, vernal pools, seasonal wetlands, and marsh habitat associated with Barker Slough, which plays a vital role in water quality, flood control, and habitat connectivity. Its unique vernal pool complexes provide important breeding habitat for amphibians and macroinvertebrates while supporting the long-term conservation of sensitive species.
