RES served as the stream restoration subcontractor to Edifice Construction on Linley Park in Anderson, South Carolina. Edifice was the construction manager-at-risk for the City of Anderson on the overall project, which cost approximately $13.4 million. RES built 1,400 linear feet of stream channel and floodplain between January and May 2025, completing the work on schedule. The park now features a playground, greenway, and restroom amenities built around the restored stream.
Edifice coordinated the bid packages and managed the trade contractors, including grading, utilities, and hardscapes. RES worked within that structure to ensure the stream construction could proceed without delaying the other trades. RES also kept the designer, GMC, and other stakeholders informed about the stream construction process. Because many of those stakeholders had little experience with stream work, RES addressed their questions and concerns early so the project could move forward with shared expectations.
RES drew on its experience in building urban stream restorations to bring the channel and floodplain up to design standards. The team delivered the stream portion on schedule, even though the overall project had been running behind. Careful planning, clear communication, and disciplined execution made the difference.
