Desmond has over 25 years of experience in the mitigation banking industry. As Client Solutions Manager in Florida, he cultivates trusted advisor relationships with clients to deliver comprehensive ecological solutions.

Desmond’s experience has been in the southeastern region of the USA, working with wetland, conservation, and stream mitigation banking. Desmond has also been part of developing, implementing, and marketing some of the nation’s premier mitigation banks throughout the SE US, predominantly in Florida. Two of these are firsts in our industry: Pembroke Pines Mitigation Bank, which transferred the first federal credit, and the Panther Island Mitigation Bank, designated a Wetland of International Importance by Ramsar. He has worked on mitigation projects providing over 17,000 acres of wetland and endangered species habitat.

Desmond was born and raised in South Africa. Upon completing high school, he joined the military and served as a non-commissioned officer in the cavalry division. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Public Administration from Stellenbosch University.

Before traveling abroad, he worked as a game ranger in Zululand, South Africa. He resides in Boca Raton with his wife and children.
