In 2022, Ron was named State Business Manager for Kentucky. Previously, he served as Senior Project Manager, applying over 34 years of experience in the ecological assessment arena. He manages ecological assessment, permitting, and mitigation projects for a wide variety of private and public clients. Ron utilizes a comprehensive understanding of permitting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under the Clean Water Act, extensive knowledge of associated state and local regulations, and strong working relationships with agency personnel to efficiently navigate project regulatory requirements. He brings a full range of ecological assessment and planning expertise to projects, specifically in the areas of water/wetland assessment and mitigation; botany surveys; threatened/endangered species surveys; consultation under the Endangered Species Act; environmental assessment (EA/EIS) project coordination and report writing; and project management. Prior to RES, he served as a partner at Redwing Ecological Services, which was acquired by RES in 2020.
Ron holds an M.S. in Biology from James Madison University and a B.S. in Biology from Eastern Mennonite University.
